Misleading advertising and consumer protection
This article discusses the rules surrounding advertising and consumer rights.
Misleading advertising is strictly prohibited in Quebec. A merchant may not make false promises or conceal important facts about a product or service. Consumers may request cancellation of the contract or a refund. The Office of Consumer Protection may also impose fines or penalties on offending companies.
